It was Chinese New Year and peak season for traveling around South East Asia. We were lucky to get ourselves last minute trip online via Priceline Singapore.

We flew with Bangkok Airways from Changi Airport. Arrived Ko Samui late evening and were picked-up by the hotel transfer. Checked in at Samui Cliff View Resort & Spa Hotel, which located at the southern part of Chaweng Beach. The room was spacious and as the hotel’s name has suggested, with nice cliff view.

Next day early morning we were picked up by Easy Divers as Michael has made arrangement for a 2-days diving trip with them. Arrived at the dive centre for payments and we were off to the sea.

Simple breakfast was served on the boat. We arrived at Sail Rock after one and a half hours for our first dive. Weather was really good, so as the visibility under the sea. We made our second dive somewhere close to the first dive site and it was equally nice.

We ventured out to Chaweng on a rented scooter for dinner later that night. It was the first and last attempt riding a bike on Ko Samui though, as it turned out to be not as easy as we have imagined.

We repeated more or less the same activities the following day, except Michael was left on the boat this time while the rest went diving because he has forgotten to put on his contact lenses… poor Michael! We arrived at Shark Island after a rather long 3 hours boat trip. The visibility underwater was even better than the day before. The second dive was made around a small island called Aow Leuk.

That night we had nice barbequed fish at one of the many restaurants on Chaweng shopping street. Did some shopping after that and pampered ourselves to a foot massage.

On our 4th day, we finally get to enjoy breakfast with nice view at the hotel’s café. We then signed up with Namuang Jungle Trip for a half day tour around the island. We did elephant trekking, dipped in Namuang Waterfall, watched trained monkey plucking coconuts, went to an aquarium, watched bird and tiger show, enjoyed tasty Thai lunch by the sea, saw a mummified monk, and last but not least, visited the famous Grandpa & Grandma Rock – Hinta, Hinyai.

We did one last shopping right after breakfast on the last day and headed back home with much satisfaction.
